So today I woke up and the first thing I thought was "I wonder if there's any brownie left over from last night?" Rather than giving in, I was a good girl and stuck with the plan. Well, basically.
The plan: Workout for 1 hour and eat healthy. Today's video was Kathy something's Buns and Thighs step workout. Now granted this movie is almost as old as me, but it has some great sentimental value. After I had surgery a few years back, that old VHS helped me get back my range of motion in my arms, so I stick with it. Even if they do wear horrid 80's outfits with those terrible little triangle shorts.
The reality: After huffing and puffing through the warm up and BARELY making it through the 1st segment & cool down of the tape, I decided to only work out for those 30 minutes.
I started to go down the path of "Well this sucks, I already can't stick with it." But I stopped myself. This year I am not going to barrade myself for not doing as much as planned. I did what I could and that's all I could hope for. That was my best.
I don't own a scale (their evil and not allowed in my house) so I used my Wii fit to find out my starting measurements. I weigh 189lbs and with my height of 5'4" that puts my BMI in the obese category. Where's my comfort food when I need it?! Also, for shits and grins, my Wii fit age was 22, but that doesn't really make much of a difference (but I'm younger!!!).
As far as the food goes, I'm doing pretty good although I did have a tough time at the store. I went to pick up some fruit and was also looking for a nail thing (don't ask, it's something I'm doing with the Energizer Bunny) and found my self in the aisle with the V8 juices. After picking up some of the low sodium cans, I turned around and realized that at this particular store, the juices share an aisle. They are on one side and candy is on the other. Dear god candy...candy..mmm....wait what was I talking about? Right! I'm getting healthy. I can do this. I can do this. I CAN DO THIS!! So I walked away and came home. Day 1, good so far....
I'll break down for you what all I had so far.
Exercise: warm up - 9 minutes, workout 14 minutes, cool down, 5 minutes
Food: breakfast - yeah right, slept right through that shit. Lunch - jerky from the market (that shit better be healthy because I'm not giving it up. It's delicious!) and a chocolate Boost. Dinner - I'll be eating a veggie burger, some fruit chunks, and lots of water throughout the day. Also, snacks of more fruit chunks and a V8 juice.
So far so good... :)
Quick update: So I wanted to do more exercises than just what I had done in the morning so I also did 20 minutes on my exercise ball. Also, here's a photo of me from this past Christmas!
Don't you love how the wii fit tells us were obese! I am 185 and 5'4" and I get so mad at it for telling me that. Can't it say....Your overweight but its okay we are going to help you with that. Nope OBESE! Stupid wii fit! lol! Loving your blogs! Keep them coming! I am finally doing my blog today.
