Ok, so here goes. My name is Lisa and I'm fat. So is my whole family. As a former ballet dancer, I didn't use to have to exercise and I could eat what I wanted. But as my joints wore down, it got harder and harder to continue with what I love. After the doctor finally said to give up dancing, I slowly lost myself to the sedentary lifestyle. I'd get up and go to work or school, but had no interest in exercising. To be honest, I still don't, I hate exercising! But, like Ghandi said, "Be the change you want to see" so here goes.
Recently I've noticed everyone beginning to become more health conscious. My sister also started loosing a lot of weight with some weight loss diet. She's lost almost 80 lbs (go Tess!). I kept looking around and noticing everyone becoming healthier and happier. And there I was, being left behind. Well, I am ready to reverse that. Starting this new year, I will give up fast food (my beautiful friend it has been a fun ride), cut back on sugar (for now, eventually I would like to cut it out entirely but realize that I'm not strong enough for that just yet), and GET MOVING!
So as I sit here with my brownie, contemplating how I am going to tell it that we are breaking up, never to see each other again, I realize it's time for a change and even if my family won't change with me, this will be my year to get myself back. Any support anyone is willing to give is appreciated, but I still have to do the heavy lifting myself (literally!). Here's to the New Year and hopefully, the New Me!!!
